Juli Goff, Director

Juli, graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Physical Therapy, worked especially with children with disabilities and chronic pain patients for 10 years, and then spent 18 years in hospital administration managing programs and personnel from all medical disciplines. She did extensive work as a mediator and community planner in Tucson, AZ which now translates into volunteering with the La Paz Orphanage and School of Music. She became a Mexican citizen in 2007 and now enjoys dual citizenship. Her avocations are world travel, anything in or on the sea and her pooches, Minnie and Cinders. She is considered the ultimate "concierge of La Paz" as she can answer about any question or manage any issue. Welcome to her school and home!

Antonio Reynoso, Director of Education

Antonio, is from Guadalajara. He has a degree in Teaching Spanish and English. He studied in Escuela Normal Superior de Jalisco and Escuela Normal Superior de Especialidades where he was qualified in "detecting and treating learning problems." Antonio has taught in total immersion Spanish Programs in Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico. His avocations include going out with his family, reading and reading.

Merit Berenice Rochín Iriarte, Instructor

Merit, has an undergraduate degree in Spanish Education; she has a certification as an English translator and currently, she is working on an additional degree in public accounting. Merit joined our staff in October, 2000 and brings a new and younger perspective to our teaching staff. Originally from Cuidad Insurgentes north of La Paz, her family has a legacy of teachers, making her a natural teacher, as well. Bienvenida, Merit!

Alejandra Perez Torres, Instructor

Alejandra Perez Torres (Alexa) is originally from Mexico City. She studied Electronics at a University there and then moved to La Paz 30 years ago with her family. She has also studied English here in La Paz as well as painting and cooking.
She has a keen interest in electronics and new technology, as well as painting and cooking. She has studied vegetarian and Korean cooking.
She very much likes meeting new people and traveling to new places.
Se Habla… La Paz is fortunate to have this excellent instructor with many talents and interests to keep the conversations lively!

Miguel Angel Reynoso Muñoz, Instructor

Miquel, was born and raised in Guadalajara. Miguel has lived in Phoenix, Arizona for several years where he studied English, to enhance his earlier studies in social sciences and humanities at the University of Guadalajara. Teaching Spanish as a second language is a natural for Miguel as his favorite pastimes are traveling and meeting people from all over the world! We are delighted to have Miguel as part of the Se Habla team of teachers and staff in Guadalajara. He is the local expert of all things ´Guadalajara´for our students.

Cynthia Rojas Escamilla, Instructor

Cynthia Rojas Escamilla is from Mexico City and studied in the Escuela Superior de Turismo; she has a certification in Administration as well.
Cynthia began her career at the Mexico City International Airport and the worked in an airline where she met many people and had a pleasant experience. She also worked in a travel agency for 2 years, using her English and assisting foreigners with their travels. She enjoys going out with family and friends, swimming, travel and of course, teaching Spanish! Director Reynoso says that she is a natural instructor with an excellent sense of humor and ease with her students.

Martha Patricia Hirales Manriquez, Instructor

Martha was born in La Paz and studied fiscal and financial accounting but found a fascination for teaching! She likes getting to know people, foreigners and their world-wide cultures. She is a prolific reader and is admittedly addicted to the movies. Martha is our newest teacher and we are thrilled to have her talents devoted to our students and their learning. She is another "natural" instructor who has the patience of a saint and the sweetest smile!

Miriam Garcia Medina, Housekeeper

Miriam Garcia Medina came to La Paz from Michoacan and Jalisco on the mainland in 2004 where she was born and raised. She is attending night classes in La Paz to further her education. She likes to shop, listen to music on her iPod, take and download photos on her cell phone. She is an energetic person and has learned much about the customs and preferences of foreigners. She is responsible for the mid-morning snacks and the care of the school and garden.

Minnie & Cinders, Greeters

Minnie and Cinders take their job as "Greeters of the School" very seriously. They're probably the first two faces you'll see!
"They are rescued doggies from La Paz and have found a good life being companions for the students during the day and watchdogs during the night."

Manuel Perez Nuñez, 'Manny'

'Manny' is our right hand and often the students' first welcome contact. Manny and his own tour company, 'Many, Manny Tours' provide our airport pickup and delivery to the homestay families or other accommodations. A southern Baja native, there is no question that Manny cannot answer - just try it! - Interested in whale watching, trips to the beaches on tours of Todos Santos or Los Cabos? Manny is THE BEST! His vehicles are safe and clean and his laughter is contagious.
