Board of TanzaniaTanzania cracks down on illegal slot machines. The board has initiated the series of initiatives in tandem with the Tanzania police authorities and with the Tanzania Revenue Authority. It has suggested that a longer-term strategy might require putting in place a more comprehensive Information Communication and Technology system.

In a report in Gaming for Africa, the monitoring technology had been investigated by the board and the final product would be connected to all machines so that they can be registered with their location. It is now in the final stages of development and it is hoped to introduce it in the latter part of next month.
