Unai Emery’s Aston Villa take on Ange Postecoglu’s Tottenham at Villa Park on Sunday in what looks to be both an intriguing and entertaining battle for the 4th Champions League position.

Ollie Watkins hit the winner as Aston Villa came from behind to beat Tottenham 2-1 back in November.

Expect goals in this clash, with 21 of Spurs’ 26 Premier League games (81%) ending with both teams scoring, the highest total of all teams.

Meanwhile 19 of Villa’s 27 matches (70%) has seen both teams scoring, with  this happening in 77% of their games at Villa Park.

The graphic below shows Tottenham ranked 1st and Aston Villa 4th for the number of games in which both teams have scored in their respective games this campaign.

Emery’s men have both scored and conceded in 10 of their 13 home games so far and in Tottenham’s case it’s 9 out of their 12 matches on the road where this has occurred.

With the attacking players on display it would be hard to argue against goals flying in at both ends when they meet on Sunday.

The graphic below shows Aston Villa ranked 5th at home in terms of both teams scoring and for Tottenham away they are ranked 3rd for this statistic.

Furthermore, Villa have scored in every single home match in the Premier League this season with Tottenham finding the net in every single game.

Coupled with the fact both Tottenham and Aston Villa are the two highest ranked teams in which over 2.5 goals has happened in their games, all roads point towards a goal fest at Villa Park this weekend.

Willliam Hill are offering the best price of 1.55 on both teams to score and over 2.5 goals and are also best price of 2 on there being over 3.5 goals in the match.

The graphic below shows the number of times over 2.5 goals has occurred in both Spurs and Villa’s games this campaign, with 75% of Tottenham’s away games and 77% of Villa’s home matches ending up with this outcome.

With the likes of Ollie Watkins in insatiable form for Villa this season and on the opposite team Son Heung-Min leading the line for Spurs, 888 Sport offering 4 on both players scoring anytime has value.

Watkins has bagged 7 goals in the last 8 league games and has 21 goals in all competitions (16 in the Premier League) making him the 2nd highest scorer in the league.

While Son isn’t quite in the same run of form as Watkins, he is still the joint 6th top scorer in the Premier League with 13 goals and scored in Spurs’ 3-1 win against Crystal Palace last time out.

The South Korean most certainly poses Villa the most threat and will be looking to maintain Postecoglu’s sides record of scoring in their 13th consecutive away game.
